Edible was an app concept developed with a team of 4 colleagues. The idea was formed in response to a client brief for the design of a food app like Deliveroo or Just Eat. The app coordinates ordering & delivery for home cooks who are looking to make extra money from their culinary skills. Cook’s post a dish of a specific cuisine and Edible app organises them, takes payment and delivers the dish to the customer.
Once the concept had been fully identified the team considered how to apply the mobile UX principles utility, efficiency and navigation to ensure the app is consistent, continuous and complementary across mobile and tablet devices. In order to do so our group looked at Information Architecture IA which defines the information structure, Mobile IA (MIA) which applies navigation to the structure and then began to develop ideas around the composition of components.
This project was challenging as all members of the team had key ideas for the design. It was also a rewarding project as it helped me to develop my skills of working to deliver an app to a deadline and coordinating its versions via GitHub. Especially important when the components are related to those being developed by other team members. The iPad cart and favourites were the parts that I was directly responsible for developing in the final jQuery prototype.
